The Multimodal Corridor Enhancement Project (MCORE) Project will improve access for all modes of transportation on the Green Street corridor and provide direct connections from downtown Urbana through the University of Illinois campus to Champaign. The project is funded by a combination of local funds and state Motor Fuel Tax funds. MCORE Project 5 includes the complete reconstruction of Green Street from Busey Avenue to Race Street inUrbana, the replacement of all sidewalks and sidewalk ramps to improve accessibility for pedestrians, and enhanced transit features. This project also includes improvements to the City storm and sanitary sewer infrastructure and water main replacement within the project limits.
