GREEN STREET ROAD CLOSURE
(BETWEEN NEIL STREET AND RAILROAD TRACKS) On Wednesday, September 20, the Multimodal Corridor Enhancement Project (MCORE) will close Green Street between Neil Street and the Canadian National Railroad tracks. Access to properties and businesses between Neil Street and the railroad viaduct, including those along Chestnut Street, will be available using driveway and alley accesses along Neil Street. Businesses are open during construction and access to properties will be maintained via alternative routes. A map depicting general timing of the project phases is available on the City of Champaign’s website. The City of Champaign, appreciates the cooperation and patience of property owners, residents, and visitors of the Campustown area during this important project. Additional updates will be provided as the project progresses. For additional information visit www.mcoreproject.com Lane Closure - Green Street from Goodwin Avenue to Lincoln AvenueThe south half of Green Street from Goodwin Avenue to Lincoln Avenue will be closed to eastbound traffic starting 7:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 13, 2017, until further notice. Eastbound Green Street traffic will use a marked detour route via Springfield Avenue. Westbound Green Street traffic will use the north half of
the street. Northbound and southbound traffic will be maintained at all times at the Mathews Avenue,Goodwin Avenue, and Lincoln Avenue intersections with Green Street. If at all possible, through traffic is encouraged to use University Avenue or Florida Avenue instead of using Green Street during construction. Green Street between Mathews Avenue and Goodwin Avenue remains closed until further notice. Access to the Illini Union and the Natural History Building on Green Street will be available at all times via Wright Street. Pedestrian access for the CUMTD bus stop system will be available at bus stops provided on Springfield Avenue and Goodwin Avenue in the vicinity of the project. CUMTD buses will not be using Green Street from Wright Street to Lincoln Avenue at this time. The Multimodal Corridor Enhancement Project (MCORE) Project will improve access for all modes of transportation on the University of Illinois campus and provide direct connections to downtown Urbana and Champaign. The project is funded in part by a Federal Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) Grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation.
